Smart, Simple, and Secure Document Management
AMPS-DOCS functionality puts your unstructured documents to work.
- Provides a centralized repository for all the documents in your organization
Documents and scanned images can be easily uploaded from through-out your organization. When a user scans a document, they can upload the .tiff file and request that it be OCR'ed. (Optical Character Recognition technology will provide the text of the original document.) It will be converted to a compressed .pdf file that can be viewed with freely available readers. Thus, users can search for text that occurs within the document and even copy out sections of text from the document
- Powerful directory, keyword, and free text searching is supported
The graphical directory interface dynamically adapts for each user. The keywords re-focus based on document type. The free text searching supports Boolean, Phrase, Proximity, Phonic, Stemming, Numeric range, Wildcard, Fuzzy Logic & Concept Searching.
- Very easy to use
The graphical user interface operates much like popular file explorers. Simply select the directory or document you want to work with and then select the graphical icon to cut, copy, paste, delete, rename, upload, filter, link, search, or add directory.
- Dynamic, automated, but stringent security processing
Each directory or even document can very easily have security filters attached to them. Unlike traditional role based security, AMPS security is based on a broad range of information that is known about the user. In this way, changes to the user's assignments or experience, or even changes to the organizational structure dynamically and automatically change the directories, documents and many other AMPS features that will be available to them.
- Privacy and security of each document is completely managed
Documents are scanned, OCR'ed, uploaded, managed, and viewed ONLY by the people with the proper authority and 'need-to-know'. There is no need for a document management staff that has access to all documents. As with all of AMPS, these documents can be managed directly by the people who are responsible for them. However, as with all of AMPS, the power of centralized management can still be fully realized.
